• Creating a child Themes along the way.

Ive not created a child theme as yet on a project I’m working on, Ive created the Nav, and changed the look to a reasonable extent via my dash board only, I’ve not gone into the editor / Style.css and changed anything there. But I’m at the point where I’m going to start adding and changing some of the CSS outside of the realms of the basic colour picker, boarder options I have.

I want to be sure before I proceed, If I create the child folder within my themes directory as you should, if I then simply copy the CSS file from my parent, pop it into my child folder, and amend the Theme Name and Template at the top, I will save everything Ive done and start to add to the new CSS file from there on in. I’m not going to loose anything by doing this?

If anybody has done this and can highlight any issues I might come across, appreciate it.

    Kind regards,

    Malcolm
