Created a new donation form for a one off project and used the visual form creator. Had no real issues except trying to find all the settings. Had a new person use the form – donation went fine – then I get a note our group has a new member so I think the donor joined the group (the donation form isn’t suppose to create a membership) but he didn’t. When the person used the form it created a new user to the website and gave them the GWP Donor role AND the default subscriber role which then tricked my membership plugin Restrict Content into thinking a manual member ship was created since it uses subscriber as the default role.

I would like to know how to turn off user registration for the visual form – there is no settings panel like there is for the regular form builder. And it looks like a bug adding the default role if it already has the donor role.

    Hi, @cadfile.

When we designed our Visual Form Builder (VFB) forms, we decided that the best approach is to create a user on WordPress, too. This will page the way for future improvement we will make for GiveWP. Therefore, Visual Form Builder forms automatically create user accounts for donors.

Currently, we do not have a way to disable this setting.

If you cannot register donors on your site, then I’d suggest you use v2 forms (legacy, classic and multi-step forms) because they do not create user profiles.

I apologize for my slow turnaround on this one.

Feel free to reach out to us if you have any further inquiries or require additional assistance. We’re always happy to help!
