I just installed the plugin and I wanted to start by running a backup instead of waiting for the scheduled ones.

I hit the option to backup now and after a few minutes it showed as two logs available and it indicated as if it was making two whole backups!

Sure enough, two of everything showed up on my Dropbox account.

I definitely only hit the button the one time and was careful to follow the instructions about waiting ten seconds then visiting a page.

    Any ideas ?

    Hi,

Did you delete your second message?

Please attach a log file. But it sounds like WordPress’s scheduler invoked the scheduled job twice, which is a problem with WordPress core rather than in UpdraftPlus.

Yes I deleted the second message it was a mistake.

What’s the bets way to attach the logs ? I have both of them here but they are pretty long so seems like not a good idea to just paste them.

The two backups are labelled just two seconds apart.

If it’s a problem with WPs core does that mean others are experiencing this ?

You can use pastebin to send large logs.

But if it is two jobs, then it’s not UpdraftPlus – either you clicked twice, or there’s some proxy on the way that did it for you, or it’s WordPress core kicking off two jobs.

I’ve not had a report of WordPress itself double-running a job for a long time. They made some improvements somewhere around WordPress 3.3 to try to stop the scheduler from doing that.
