Created child theme….. next question!

I’m new at this….! I installed WP (using godaddy) and started out by editing the twentyeleven theme template. When I ran into issues I learned that I should not have been editing the default template but should have created a child template. I deleted the changes I made to the default template (there weren’t many) and then I learned how to create a child template (yay me!!). My new dilemma: the only change I have made to the new child is a new header photo. When I “view my site” the header is there. The main “home” page says “Nothing Found. Apologies, but no results were found for the requested archive. Perhaps searching will help find a related post.” I cannot find this “home” page anywhere to edit it. It’s not under “pages” or “posts” and I don’t see a menu called “home.” Any help would be greatly appreciated!
