Created Attribute, but can't select it when adding product

  • Hi,

    I’ve created an attribute, Colour, and have set up a number of colours.

    I then created a Product, set it as ‘Variable’, and went to the Attributes section for that product.

    My ‘Colour’ attribute is shown in the ‘Custom Product Attribute’ dropdown box, but it’s not enabled there – ie. I can’t select it for use with my product.

    I can’t see any reason for this, and I’m wondering if I am overlooking something.
