    Hi all,

I have several websites running on wordpress under different sub-domains, all with some extra admin options.

Now I want to create a main website under a wordpress multisite installation and then import all the existing ones as child websites.
    Can I do this?
Would I be able to keep all the extra options existing in my current wordpress installations?

    Thanks

    Tiago

You have separate sites and want to import them into one Multisite?

Unless your themes have an export tool, there’s no easy way to pull all that in and keep the theme settings.

My themes don’t have an export tool.

I just wanted to know if it’s possible and how hard it would be. If I feel I’m not up for the job I don’t mind paying someone else to do it.

    Thanks for your quick reply

It’s theoretically possible (you’d be monkeying with the database, pulling in the wp_options from the subdomain’s DB and renaming it to wp_x_options) and … I’d not want to try it unless my theme options and all are VERY complicated. Usually a move like that is a great opportunity to clean up cruft.

Well if it’s that hard maybe I’ll have to consider not to migrate to WordPress Multisite and keep my websites as they are.

    Anyway, thanks for your help.
