create signup for new site alone for users

    HI

    I am planning to setup a multisite network where users can create there own blogs as subdomain from my wp installation.

    when chechked the settings i found following options

    “Registration is disabled.
    User accounts may be registered.
    Logged in users may register new sites.
    Both sites and user accounts can be registered.”

    have currently chosen ” Both sites and user accounts can be registered.”
    but i actually only want the users to create new site by providing the wp-signup link( i don’t want to give users an option to create user account)
    Is there a way i could give the new user an option only to create new site/blogs

    Any help will be appreciated. thanks ??

    You want Logged in users may register new sites. then. That means “Only people with an account can make a site, and registration is disabled.” So you have to add users manually.

    Thank you for your response and Really sorry for the readability problem.

    Oh that is actually a difficult task to manually add users :(… so there is no other option to “allow register new sites” right.

    May be can you kindly help me with the css of two checkbox options that appears when “Both sites and user accounts can be registered.” is enabled that is i need to modify css of “Gimme a site!” and “Just a username, please.” also there corresponding checkbox. the checkbox and there corresponding text seems to be unaligned.Also i could arrange the position of those text.

    Okay, so you mean you want “I want anyone to register, but only create a site AFTER they register”

    How is that different from “Both sites and user accounts can be registered.” then?

    Sorry for my miss communication…

    What i need is i dont want an option for “user accounts” creation alone…
    ie, if we choose “gimme a site” a site plus user account will be created with the same option right, that is fine only i need this part. I dont want the other option to be there ie, “Just a username, please.”

    Then you’ll need to make your own registration page or edit the css. There MAY be a plugin to force this, but the fastest way would be to edit your theme’s CSS to hide the options to make a new site or not. Since the default is to force them to make a site, that would work.

    I used the css method to hide the radio buttons and there labels.Hope i did it correctly, unless the css wont affect anything else :D…
