• Hi,

for security reasons I disabled “create posts” for admins. Nonetheless I can create posts when I’m logged in as an admin. I would also appreciate to disable “publish posts” for admins. But it’s not possible to change the settings.

Do I need the ProVersion for that or does this happen due to server settings? I noticed that MySql 5.6 is required for WP now, but currently my Server has only 5.0.12. Does User Role Editor require a newer version of MySQL?

    Thank you

    Hi,

MySQL version does not matter in relation to the WordPress post editing permissions.

‘create_posts’ capability is not active by default in WordPress. There is no sense to use it until it will be activated via User Role Editor Pro or other related plugin.

User Role Editor prevents editing ‘administrator’ role as there are cases when user loses access to the site after revoke of some capabilities by accident.

If you need to provide less access than ‘administrator’ role create a custom role as a copy of ‘administrator’ role and revoke unneeded capabilities from it.

Great! Thank you for explanation. It helped me a lot. The Plugin does what I want.
