    Hello,
I have transferred a database from a custom made website into WP. Everything works – I can see posts, they are sorted by categories, but when I open a specific post, I get 404. I’m sure it’s because of permalinks, but when I change in wordpress permalinks to “https://localhost/wordpress/sample-post/” and all the spaces replace with “-” in post_name column, I still get the 404 error.
When I change settings to default (https://localhost/wordpress/?p=123), the posts are working as supposed but I need “sample-post”.
So my question how should the post_name look like and what other settings should I change to get the links working?

  • Make sure when you make changes to permalinks, they are reflected in .htaccess file as well. If they are not there then it will not work.

Thank you, filled the .htaccess file and played around with values in post_name and they seem to work nicely.
When the .htaccess file is fixed, updating a post in WP works as permalink/post_name fixer as well ??
