Create my unique social sharing button

    So I’ve looked everywhere for this but I keep getting results that are about adding existing social network share buttons – FB, Twitter, Pinterest, etc…

    But what I’m looking to do is create my button that can be put on OTHER websites.

    For example my site is 123.com and I want to put MY button on abc.com. When a user is logged into my site but visits abc.com and clicks on my button – they can choose from a small dropdown menu that shows what they think of abc.com and share it with users on 123.com.

    I’ve tried Googling this but not matter what I use as a search term I get pages and pages of results telling me how to put a FB or Twitter share button on my site!

    Are there any plugins available to do this or does anyone know of any sites out there that might have instructions on how to do this?

  • You need an API for your site. When you click a Facebook share button on a site it is using the Facebook API to tap into their system, get the info it needs, and come back. It’s more complicated than just a couple lines of codes or a plugin.

    So basically you need to look for is a way to create an API so share stuff on your site.
