    Hi Tobias,

    From me as well, congratulation for this awesome plugin and for your dedication to help your users.

    Thanks to the extension : column filter widgets, I am able to make appear an filtering field FF that allows me to filter according to the content of column C. I am also able to make appear a second filtering field FF’ that allows me to filter according to the content of column C’

    I would be glad if you could help me finding a way to have only one filtering field where I could click on filter by :
    – Content on column C
    – Content on column C’
    – View all

    Long story short : customizing the length menu

    thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.

    Sorry, I don’t know a solution to this ?? I did not write the actual JavaScript code from the ColumnFilterWidgets script that adds these form fields. I only made this code available as a TablePress Extension. I’m just not familiar enough with it to know how to modify it like this. Sorry.

    Would you say, that they simply modified the Js of the CFW script ?

    Since it seems difficult to do it via CFW, any chance we could simply modify the length menu ?
    So that it can filter using a qualitative criteria, instead than a quantitative criteria (lengthmenu) ?

    Hi,

    from what I can see, they are using a totally custom filtering here, without the ColumnFilterWidgets script, and without even the DataTables JS library. (They are actually not even TablePress, but that’s unrelated to the filtering and scripts here.)

    Modifying the Length Menu probably won’t help either, as that doesn’t perform any filtering, but is used for the pagination. Also, as that’s part of the DataTables JS library, we are looking at the same problem again.

    So, in summary, if you want to pursue this, you’ll probably have to develop a custom solution that uses the API functions of the DataTables JS library to perform the custom filtering that you want. The code of the ColumnFilterWidgets script can probably help you get there and give you inspiration.
