• I just created a new home page within Dreaweaver, added some graphics and enter button to the blog. What file do I link to so that the blog comes up? I see on other sites the have navigation section with About Us, Contact, Products, BLOG. When the person clicks on the Blog button it takes the user to the Blog itself. Not sure what file to link to with WP.

Is there a better way to do this? Im starting to add pages to my site and dont want just the blog anymore but a web site as the front end.

    Thanks

  • You can create a new Page in WP and take the code you have from DW and paste it into the new Page. The go to settings, reading and select the static page to open first.

As an alternative your site can be html or whatever and open with a index.html file while WP can be in a subdirectory.

Thanks for getting back to me. If I leave it as a static html page with the link on top of the page that has BLOG how or what file do I link to within WP.

Whar Im trying to void is having https://www.yourdomain.com/nameof blog. I would rather have my home page which is the new index page with various links to ther pages within the site in addition to the blog. I hope this clears somethings up.

https://www.yourdomain.com would point to the static page. You can put navigation on that page with one link leading Blog or whatever you want to call it.
