create image hotspot/image mapping?

Hello,

I’m trying to take a header image – a .png (but I can make a jpg or gif if needed) – and make hotspots on it so that they are clickable, with each hotspot bringing the user to a specific page on my site.

I remember doing this in the 90’s – I know, ancient right? lol – and it was simple. You created the hotspots saved your file and done.

Now it seems the only way to do this is using slices, in Adobe, or creating an image map with coordinates in html, or doing it in css.

The problem is, I need an “image” – I need to be able to place this in my header as an image file – one file and it can’t be a html or css.
