  • Hi @ssl1357,

Welcome to the WordPress community ??

I hope you are well today and thank you for your question.

The “On specific URL” PopUp condition only works on specific static URL and not dynamic URL having random string but you can display the pop up on dynamic URLs by activating the “Advanced URL rules” WordPress PopUp Add-on and using “Show on approximate URL” popup condition.

The “Advanced URL rules” WordPress PopUp Add-on and “Show on approximate URL” popup condition is only available in the pro version of PopUp plugin and not in this free version of WordPress PopUp plugin.

Please advise if you have more questions.

    Kind Regards,

    Thank you for your response.

    I don’t think I need a dynamic URL, though.

All I need is some static URL for the homepage so that the popup would show only for the homepage. Once the user clicks any link, there would be no popup.

I hope I’m explaining clearly. Maybe it would help to be more specific. A friend who is getting married is asking wedding guests to donate to my nonprofit organization in lieu of a wedding registry. So, I would like to create a URL that would be shared with wedding guests (e.g., https://www.mysite.org/?wedding or https://www.mysite.org/?tag=wedding or what have you) and that would otherwise be identical to the https://www.mysite.org landing page). I would configure WordPress PopUp to show a “Thank you for donating in honor of Sarah and John!”) popup only for the wedding-specific URL. Once a user clicks anywhere else on the site, the URL would revert to the native URL structure of the site.

So the main question is: Is there a way to create a “mirror” or “alias” or “frame” for a webpage on WordPress that uses an arbitrary string in the URL but is otherwise identical to the homepage?

    Thank you!

    Hi @ssl1357,

Thank you for your reply and sorry for any misunderstanding.

I would like to create a custom homepage URL so that a popup only shows for visitors who arrive at the site through the custom URL.

All I need is some static URL for the homepage so that the popup would show only for the homepage. Once the user clicks any link, there would be no popup.

You can achieve this using “On specific URL” and “Visitor is not logged in” pop over conditions.

This is not WordPress PopUp plugin related question but i think you can achieve this using iframe as described on the following page.
