Create child theme without FTP?

    I’m using the “Sparkling” theme on a WordPress site that I don’t have FTP access to. I have made a few changes to the theme, but would like to create a child theme before I go any further.

    I have tried both “Child Theme Configurator” and “One-Click Child Theme”, but the child theme doesn’t look quite right. The fonts are slightly different and the menu items/links have a grey background around them.

    Could this be a theme specific issue? Is there a better plugin? I don’t care about all the fancy features of “Child Theme Configurator”, I just don’t want to loose my changes whenever an update comes out.

    Do I need to move this to the support section for the Sparkling theme, or the support section of one of the plugins?

    Or if anyone could answer that would be great…
