• Seams the “Debit Or Credit Card” option is now requiring you to add a password and setup a PayPal account now? It says “Create an account to get PayPal benefits” and will not let me pay without adding a password in the field. Is this the same as the “Account Required” thread a day ago?

I went back to 2.4.3 to get non-PayPal working again, but its the same; requiring PayPal account signup.
This ‘update’ by PayPal breaks peoples websites without them knowing.
I see the instructions, but am now also researching alternative payment processors.

    Hello @sonic1243

The clue here is that the Standard Credit and Debit Card gateway is embedded in an iframe and hosted on PayPal’s servers. Whether or not a customer needs to log in to PayPal to complete a payment is determined by PayPal. A workaround is discussed in a thread which you can find in the topic you mentioned. To enable payment without a PayPal account, you would need to use Advanced Card Processing.

If you have any more questions, please let us know.

    Kind regards,

I know that, but the reality is we’ve lost business over this.
The majority of customers don’t want a PayPal account.
Will try the ACP thing tomorrow when the clients are back.

    Hello @sonic1243

Of course, I understand your concerns. However, as plugin developers, we don’t set these rules. You might want to contact PayPal Merchant Support for more assistance. They’re likely to suggest Advanced Card Processing, just as we have.

If you have any more questions, please feel free to ask.

    Kind regards,
