• The fact is the layouts that are made by indépendant designers are made with different methods. Some using the “theme styles” in elementor, others without The styles (blue settings window in elementor). My clients don’t understand, and nobody does because there is no consistency from a design to another, that generates me massive support tickets, so I had to delete the plugin from my stores and go back to something more consistent and fiable in the process of building woocommerce stores.
Sure my need is very specific but because Elementor doesn’t give any option to disable by default the Theme option and that Envato élements one time use them and another time doesn’t, then for me I had to uninstall the plugin or use another page builder. What a shame because the design are great. You still have a lot of work to get your designing process consistent and logic. 2 stars for me as it’s useless but designs are great (which is even more irritating in my case as I can’t use them… So I’m not sure that’s a good point but, i’ll be fair !)
The result is that I lost several weeks fighting with this unconsistent way of building templates. I ended up with the conclusion : no solution. At least for the moment, untill Envato didn’t do an effort to disable the theme styles before we import the templates / elementor didn’t includ a setting to disable theme. The best would be for sure that Envato seigners STOP right now to use theme styles as Elementor is not supposed to be a THEME BUILDER but a PAGE BUILDER. We all have great themes install on our websites like Astra or Page builder framework, Kadence or Blocksy, and you guys break all our work from a day to another. Conclusion : I lost weeks and I’m mad against you now. Very bad user experience in my case (which is very specific for sure, as I already said).
I hope my feedback would be read and my help you reach a better service.
    Ed.

I precise i’m using the pro version. Maybe this is the problem actually : somethimes like M. Van der Rohe says (the architect) : “LESS IS MORE”. I didn’t tried only using free templates but maybe that’s the solution…. Great. Making more sometimes is not good. Please simplify the process and focus on making you designs consistent. That’s all I’m asking for. And please don’t ERASE our themes’ customizer settings. Thanks in advance.

    Hey there!

First of all, thank you so much for your feedback. We do value your thoughts and opinions and aim to make our plugin the best one out there.

Theme Styles are a growing part of Elementor and will only become more prominent with Elementor 3.0. As WordPress works to lower the bar to entry, you will see themes become more and more obsolete and the separation between front-end visual layer and backend functionality via plugins become more prominent. Elementor is, in fact, a theme builder or a builder for the visual frontend of your website. The WordPress theme itself is intended to do little more than provide skeleton structure, and soon will not even need to do that. To circle back to how our template kits work with elementor theme style, none of the free kits use that feature. Some of the premium kits do, though we encourage all of the authors to include them. This is to ensure total parity with what you see and what you get on import. These styles can be “turned off” by deleting the “Global Kit Style” template under Templates > Installed Templates. None of these should be erasing customizer settings (I don’t think we interact with the customizer at all actually, as there is nothing stored there for elementor). If you continue to see that happen, please contact our support email so we can troubleshoot individual kits with you that are doing that.

In conclusion – always backup your work!
