    Hi,

So I’ve installed the plugin, and did some testings. Configured and tweaked based on WooCommerce recommendations. Managed to improve the site to 85/100. Everything seemed to work very well. But a few moments later I suddenly found myself without Woocommerce installed (which is the base of my website). Immediately removed your plug from the platform and had to delete the Woocmmerce folder (via FTP) in order to be able to re-install it again. Phew, that was nerve wracking but everything restored and returned to work normal.

BUT I’m afraid to install the Hummingbird Page Speed plug again.

I have some other websites but am not going to install it there until I’ll manage to figure this out.

    Any leads to what happened?

  • Hi @niron,

Sorry to hear that you had such an issue on your website. But, Hummingbird will not delete any plugins or system files, only cache files or minified version of assets. In any case, your WordPress install should not be affected by the plugin. Do you have any error/access logs from the incident?

    Best regards,
    Anton

Where can I find those error/access logs?

@niron, depends on the server configuration. You can try looking for a logs folder in the root of your FTP. Or ask you host where to find the logs. Also, please check if you have wp-content/wphb-logs folder.

It’s a basic WordPress hosting package. Nothing in the root that I can find.

I do have the wphb-logs folder that you suggested but unfortunately it appears to be empty.

Thought you could see something from your end / logs.

    Hello there @niron

Please contact your hosting provider and ask them for any error log that could assist us.
Then either post their links or upload them in a service like Dropbox and post the shareable link here in your next reply. ??

    Warm regards,
    Dimitris

I just did. No logs on their end because I’m using a sharing server package.

    @niron,

Are you able to create a staging site and try to replicate the issue there?

    Best regards,
    Anton

    Hi,

First, thanks a lot for the great support.

Unfortunately, I cannot do it. But I can describe what happened.

    1. Installed the plugin and ran the test. The system suggested a few ways to improve.
    2. I did exactly as suggested, leaving away a few dynamic pages.
    3. connected to cloudflare via API.
    4. Did a second test which improved the score to 85/100.
    5. Then I did the usual stuff, updating text in posts, etc (nothing unusual).
    6. The app has shown green checkmarks on all options including GZIP compression.
    6. Then, minutes later the website had a mini crash and a few seconds later returned back to full operation but without Woocommerce. Website said: Error 500.
    7. I couldn’t install the Woocommerce plug because the folder was still there. So I removed the Hummingbird plugin, connected to the server via FTP, removed the WOO folder and then re-installed the plugin again.
    8. Website returned to work as before.

    Hi @niron,

Unfortunately, I was not able to replicate on a local install.
