• I made a bulk compression of old files, when the plugin crashed my server! I needed the backup from my provider to get the site up again.

Besides Smushit I use these plugins: Duplicate Post, Redirection, W3 Total Cache, WordPress SEO Yoast.

AThere is another problem with the plugin:
I have an image with 207 kb. When I smush the image it says “Smushed by 167 kb (8%)”. Obviously this is total nonsense.

And the price policy is the third point to say “Don’t use it!”

    Hey there,

Thanks for taking the time to leave your review.

By crash the server, what do you mean?

Was this a white page? And what were the errors within your server log which pointed to WP Smush being the only cause?

Is there any chance you could provide that image (the original one), and a screenshot of the Smush screen showing the compression. I’d love to take a look and test it. We’re always looking to improve our API and plugin.

As for the price, it’s totally free to use this version. I get you’re referring to our premium API but don’t totally understand how that factors into a review of the free API which is what’s available from www.remarpro.com, if you could please elaborate further.

    Take care.

When you upload an image, WP makes multiple resized copies of it (as many as 10 depending on your theme and settings). The stats for an attatchment are a total savings of all those images.

Yes, I got a white Screen on my site when my “server crashed” (wordpress hang up) during the bulk compression. Sorry, I have no server logs.

Okay, I understand the problem with the stats and the total savings. Please indicate it more detailed.

Your price policy doesn’t factor into my review. But I think it’s okay to point out (even in the review for a free plugin), that the pricing for the Pro Version is completely out of range. Almost 600$ a year! Yes, I get a lot more things for the money. But listen, I only want ONE plugin.

    Hey again,

Was your host not able to provide those error logs, they would great help us to see what the issue is, and fix that for you.

Just to mention, it’s not $600 a year for premium Smush plugin alone. It’s available either as part of our full membership, or as a single plugin at $19 per month.

If you do give it another try, and still get the white page, those error logs would really help us to fix any issue for you.

    Have a great day!
