Crahes site after upgrading to 2.8.5

  • Hi,
    I just did a manual update for the plug-in, and the site crashed with a 500 error; when activated the WP DEBUG I got the cause:

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘class’ (T_CLASS), expecting identifier (T_STRING) or variable (T_VARIABLE) or ‘{‘ or ‘$’ in ***/wp-content/plugins/rd-hover-effects/inc/Init.php on line 16

    *** I removed the full server path

    So, I deleted the folder in order to recover the site functionality.

    Hi,
    Tested a clean install of the latest plugin version on a couple of instances without issues. Can you please check which version of PHP is installed on your server? You can check that from your cPanel directly. Alternatively, there are free plugins you can install that can tell you which version of PHP you have.
