• So as we begin to test Swift, have configured it and tweaked a few settings that we think will work. Test tools like GTMetrix reports look promising. We are running this on a dedicated server and once installed, we see a large spike in CPU load. Even had the data center tech log in to check server while this is happening and they could not tell what was causing this. The system does not show the activities of the php process only that its php-fpm is eating more than the usual CPU cycles. Once teh plugin was deactivated, CPU cycles drop to normal again.

Tried to let Swift run for a bit but see that even after caching (number of pages and space used) stops, CPU is still spiking.

Anyone have any ideas what could be causing this? Maybe a setting we can tweak?

You said you experience this even when the cache had been completely built?
Please make sure you have ‘optimize prebuild only’ checked and uncheck optimize in background. Also you can disable ‘generate critical css’ to lower the load on your server.
