• ive had my site for a little over a month now, with maybe 10-20 visits per day max per jetpack, daily average is around 5. siteground emailed me my site was offline since i went over the 10k cpu seconds per day limit. i added heartbeat and also setup cronjob per their recs, but dont really understand why im exceeding the cpu allotment when i dont have many visits.

i also attached a screenshot of my aw stats page – https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B-U4Blp0n93PM1MzZENiQnJJbGM/view?usp=sharing
i feel as though siteground is trying upsell me to get the higher packages which allow for more cpu seconds, im not sure if i should take their advice, was hoping for some insight here. thank you

high CPU usage could be due to (but not limited to):
    – A poor or memory intensive theme. Switch to the WordPress default theme and test loading time and see if you see a difference. If you do, may be your theme can be re-written to be more efficient.
    – Poor or memory intensive plugins. One by one disable plugins and test loading time and see if you see a difference. If you do, may be that plugin can be re-written to be more efficient.
    – your server is slow (e.g., “process hang”, overload, you get a lot of visitors, other problems, etc.); generally, every inexpensive host out there is slow.
    – Lots of images can cause slowness. Also images loaded without compression.
    – Lots of external content (facebook/ gravatar/ google adds, etc.) and redirects in general tends to slow sites down.

    Hello,

Hristo from SiteGround here. Could you tell me which plan you’re hosted on and if possible a domain name or a ticket Id so I can investigate and tell you what’s causing this increase in the resource usage?

Hi, just having a terrible time with Siteground, high CPU etc.. seems like a scam

@mulberrycrush This is a month old topic, I would recommend creating your own thread if you are having any problems with your WordPress install.

Yes, things get auto-moderated in cases where someone tries to awaken a dead thread (and many other automated cases) to avoid just this.

    Hi

wasn’t aware 3 weeks was too old, is there a link to guidelines?

    Thanks

It’s not super old, but it’s old enough for us to begin wondering, there’s a forum welcome on the front page of the forums that we encourage everyone to read.

Your problem is in 99.999% of cases, not the same as the owner of a thread, as such as ask that you create your own topic for further troubleshooting, let’s do that now so we stop sending e-mail notifications ot the other participants of this thread for no reason.
