    Hello, I love your plug in, but I’ve been having some trouble using it because of the resources it uses. Can you provide any advice? I have numerous GET requests that are using up all of my CPU allowance. Is there a way that this can be addressed? Thank you.

    Hi,

    yes, I know it. Standard WordPress back-end script for AJAX requests (admin-ajax.php) uses a lot of resources and has poor performance. It is because the entire WordPress library is being loaded. I cannot do anything about it.

    I have prepared alternative. Switch to dedicated lightweight back-end script. It can be set on Settings -> Wise Chat Settings page, select Advanced tab and then select “Lightweight AJAX” from the dropdown list and save settings. CPU load is much lower in this mode. You can also change “Refresh Time” to higher value (the same tab).

    In future releases I’m planning to implement WebSockets and this will reduce load to minimum. However, it will require more sophisticated configuration of the chat unfortunately.

    Thank you so much for the quick response. I appreciate it! You really have the nicest and best chat plugin on the wordpress depository so I hope that you’ll be able to get the configurations figured out. Thank you for your hard work on this.
