CPT in default categories

We have documentation on how to get post types added to the default category and tag archives over at https://docs.pluginize.com/article/17-post-types-in-category-tag-archives although it is admittedly a code based solution. Not sure how comfortable you are with touching code.

I know we also have our premium CPTUI-Extended addon that has UI to choose to add CPTUI based post types to these archives, but you may not want to go the paid route.
