I’ve installed WordPress plenty of times but lately I’m having problems.

Lets say I have the following db set.

    bigdeal_dbdata101 for the database
    bigdeal_dbuser101 for the user
    gn2cpqntr6y for the password.
    localhost
    wp_

Now I’ve tried special chars, and caps and such but I still get an error when I go to install, but I’m still getting the “Error establishing a database connection” page. I had one install where it took ten tries but it finally worked and the only thing I can think that I did different was to take the special chars out of the password.

Can you tell me what I’m doing wrong?

Ok, ok. Figured it out. See I stopped doing websites for a while and now I have to get back into being attentive. lol.

The actual username I gave cpanel when I created the hosting space was more than 8 spaces and cpanel truncated it. I feel like an idiot but I think I’m going to leave this up for other idiots to see. haha.

So if the username was biggygirl, cpanel made it biggygir. or I did and didn’t remember it because I created the account a few months ago.

    Anyway, this ones resolved.
    HUMAN ERROR!
    Thanks,
    JP

Again check to database name and created user for database password. Then put don’t change local host. It will work.
