Cover Images size in Twenty Nineteen

  • What size should an ideal image be for a cover image? By that I mean how big an image should I upload for a cover image?

  • It would really depend on the average browser resolution that your site visitors browse your site with. If most of your traffic is used by desktop users, they will typically have a wider screen size so a larger image would be better to ensure it fills properly.

    If most of your users are mobile, then you can get away with a smaller image. However, a cover image should be able to adapt to most any screen size so it may be better to go with a larger size to cover both instances.

    The recommended Featured Image size is 2000px wide by 1200px high. Would this also be the right size for a Cover image?

    Hello, that would work as well for a cover image. It really depends on how much of the image you want displaying versus the overall screen real estate.
