I want to switch my posts over to using the “Cover” header layout, however when I do, it removes the title and photo from my event pages. I am using WP Events by Xylus Themes for my event listings. I’m trying to to determine whether the issue is happening on the theme size or the event plug-in side, but I think it is with the theme as the event plugin seems to just follow the standard post layout when making its event pages.

I have poured over the code and I cannot seem to even find the code that controls whether the event page title shows up or not!

You can see screenshots here: https://imgur.com/a/JnbXVJf

The first two images show the event and post page with cover header layout, the second images show it with the standard layout. I would like to have the cover layout on my posts, and still have the title and image on the event page.

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • Hi,

Unfortunately, we can’t add code specific to maintain compatibility with every plugin that exists, as that would create a bloated theme.

In such cases with 3rd party compatibilities, some custom work is needed, which unfortunately we can’t provide, as it requires more extensive personalised troubleshooting.

    Hope you understand.

Of course. I am able to add the code in, however I had a hard time figuring out which files control the visibility of the title and image. Can you point me to which files I should be looking at?

I tried adjusting things in that file but strangely it did not affect the event page. Commenting out the code that hides the title when the cover mode is selected did add the cover to a normal post page, but not the event page. I can take another look though!

    Hi,

I’m sorry to hear you are not able to do this, so far. Unfortunately the code is more complex, not everything is just in one file, there are functions called in other functions, and so on.

I tried to provide a simple starting point, but I’m sure this needs further investigation which unfortunately I’m not able to help.

Hope you manage to find your way!
