Coursepress installation shows .. Installation failed:

    I have tried installing Coursepress on an existing site and a brand new one. Both are WP 4.6.1 and both show the same screen on install (see below – userid redacted). I can’t find any issues with the site but I am concerned that something may show up down the line.

    Hello @mainplus, I hope you are doing well today!

    I can’t replicate the same on my site with same characteristics.

    On the brand new one installation, do you have other plugins/themes installed? Please deactivate all other plugins on your site and try to install the plugin again. To make sure that the plugin is not conflicting with another one, please activate one plugin at the time to make sure that the no error will appear on the front page or the back end.

    Also, switch to a default WordPress theme to test for a conflict with a theme.

    What PHP version are you using?

    Can you please try to upload the plugin manually to wp-contents/plugins/ folder?

    Once you upload manually the plugin and activate it, if you see any errors again, please enable WordPress debugging by putting the following to the wp-config.php file:

define( 'WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY', false );

    Make sure that you insert this line BEFORE /* That’s all, stop editing! Happy blogging. */ in the wp-config.php file.

    This way all errors will be saved in the debug.log file inside the /wp-content/ directory.

    Let us know the errors you’ll see!

    Hi Nastia

    The WordPress install was brand new and only had the default plugins installed (hello dolly and the login limiter). There were no themes installed either. Coursepress was the first thing I installed.

    The versions installed are …

    Apache Version 2.4.23
    PHP Version 5.6.25
    MySQL Version 5.6.31
    Architecture x86_64

    I’ve done a complete clean install of WordPress. Removed the default plugins and installed Coursepress manually by copying it into the plugins folder. It all now seems to be fine and there were no error messages. Seems like it may be an issue installing via wordpress itself.

    I use wordpress without courseware.. its not a Courseware issue..It may be a server related issue or a wordpress issue
