Course related menu item not showing only on homepage

This is a handy plugin which on the whole works well, but I seem to have an oddity where a user/course registered specific menu item won’t show if the user is on the homepage, but will show on any other page.

Any ideas what might be happening here? My site is only in test mode so I can’t really share you a link atm.
