“Coupon usage limit has been reached” all the time

    I’m testing a coupon (polcon) that I want to apply to an item only once per buyer, however I always get “Coupon usage limit has been reached” no matter what. I’ve tried having a quantity of 1 as well as greater than 1. My coupon usage limits are set like this:
    Usage limit per coupon: 20
    Limit usage to X items: 1
    Limit usage per user: 1

    I’ve tried this with different themes and had other people test as well. I always get the message that the limit has been reached. Any advice would be appreciated.

    My coupon usage limits are set like this:
    Usage limit per coupon: 20

    Limit usage per user: 1

    To understand better the site setup please provide us with the following:

    Could you please share a copy of your site’s System Status? You can find it via WooCommerce > Status. Select “Get system report” and then “Copy for support”.?

    Share a copy of any fatal error log found under WooCommerce > System Status > Logs (if available).

    Hi @terrics !

    Thanks for providing those! Everything looks to be set up correctly.

    This kind of problem might be caused by a conflict with your theme or with another plugin.
    ?
    The best way to determine this is to:

    • Temporarily switch your theme to Storefront
    • Disable all plugins except for WooCommerce
    • Try to apply the coupon

    If you’re not seeing the same problem after completing the conflict test, then you know the problem was with the plugins and/or theme you deactivated. To figure out which plugin is causing the problem, reactivate your other plugins one by one, testing after each, until you find the one causing conflict. You can find a more detailed explanation on how to do a conflict test here.

    I have now changed to Storefront and disabled every plugin except WooCommerce. I even turned off all the other WooCommerce plugins. No change.

    Hi @terrics!

    I checked your site and could apply the polcon coupon without a problem.

    Is this the expected behavior?

    If so, could you please clear your cache plugins, and your browser cache and check if the issue persists?

    Also, you could try activating your theme and plugins back, one by one, testing after each to see if the problem appears again and find the one causing the conflict.

    Ok, this is working now. I think I know what happened. Originally, I misunderstood what the Usage Limit Per Coupon did and I had it set to 1. That is incorrect, I needed it set higher, but I didn’t clear the browser cache, so it kept thinking the limit was 1. This must have still been set somewhere because people tried it from other machines and it failed. Now, I’ve cleared the history and have gone back to my plugins being enabled and my original theme, and it works.
