• Hi there!

I used to build my site in wb6 and made the layout, banners and buttons in photoshop.

But, lack of a good cms i start taking a interest in wp.

So i want to make sites in wp and not use it for blogging.

Is there a program that helps making your own templates?

And and link with info of making sites in wp with site layouts and not blog layouts cause i dont like the side menu’s with all reactions, and under text Posted in Geen categorie | Edit | 1 Comment ?

  • Is this something like what you want to build – https://waltdisneyworld.eguidesintl.com/ – that is all WP.

I wish I could tell you how but I didn’t actually create it. I just inherited it from someone else who is a lot smarter then me when it comes to WP. But I am slowly figuring things out. If you have any specific questions if I know the answer I’ll be glad to help you out.

You can try Artisteer but I don’t like the bloated code that it spits out. (I design web sites for a living and am a bit of a purist and prefer to roll my own anyway so I may not be as objective about it as I should be.)
    https://www.artisteer.com/

And just because a web site has sidebar content doesn’t necessarily make it “bloggy.” The things that make a site “bloggy,” IMHO, are Blogrolls, a calendar of posts, post archives, etc.

Check out https://www.welovewp.com and browse some of the great sites that have been built using WP.

    P.S. What is WB6?

Thnx for the replies and links.

I didnt mean no sidebar at all but not the bloggy like looking side bar.

For example i like a couple sites i found on your link, like https://blagodesigns.com/ , https://www.fabricadecaricaturas.com/ looks like they made their sites completely themself without a standard template.

Thats what i want also, use my own background, make my own buttons and banner.

Any plugin for buttons? You know also a site with plugins with demo’s on it something like https://tools.yootheme.com/ ?

And wb6 stands for webbuilder 6 its a wyiwyg program but the best on the market.

Its has huge options, and you can use everything with it, flash, java those kind of stuff and its just really easy to create a website. (creativety not included ><) this is my site https://www.rebelshouse.nl and you find the program here https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/ a great support forum also but the only thing it lacks imo is a good cms.

I cannot recommend this site too highly. Marvelous tuition for using WP as a CMS. https://www.byobwebsite.com/

thnx for the link but do you mean “can recommend?”

I think he means he recommends it very highly.

Since I design web sites for a living, I prefer to hand-code. I use Topstyle Pro mostly, along with HTML editor Edit Plus.

Google for ‘create WordPress themes’ and you should find plenty of tutorials for creating your own theme. Once you get the hang of it, you won’t be able to stop! ??
