Country/Region Selector

  • Looking for some feedback and maybe some advice on what direction I should take..

    I’m working on a small client site that will just contain a blog and a photo gallery. The client has asked for a region selector in which they specifically only want US or EUROPE. They will of course fill the site with content that can be viewable by both regions, by US only and by Europe only.

    I checked out the ‘Country Filter’ plugin by CodeDiesel but the filtering is automatic by IP detection. The client has made it clear that they want the user to be able to choose which region just incase a user is curious to view the other country’s content.

    Is there another plugin that allows selection at the beginning.. or maybe even another, simpler route I can take to execute this?

    .. or is there a similar plugin where I can filter blog posts or other content with different categories and have the user control which categories they see by selection on another page?
