    At /wp-admin/admin.php?page=ip2location-country-blocker I’ve set

    Block all countries?except?countries listed below.

    to Australia & Bangladesh

However, Hotjar is recording website visitors from all countries.

Most of these visits are from Google Ad clicks to my WP landing pages which are from users in irrelevant countries that are burning through my Google Ads budget.

Please enable the “Debugging Log” option in the plugin settings page. Then, run some tests.

Check back the “debug.log” located in the plugin folder for the details.

I’ve enabled Debugging Log in the plugin settings page. I’ve loaded the landing page in question while connected to a USA VPN.

Checking the plugin folder in FTP, there is no log, only:

    assets (directory)
    vendor (directory)
    ip2location-country-blocker.php
    licence.txt
    readme.txt
    uninstall.php

Enabling Visitor Logs also doesn’t change anything in the FTP folder.

Can you please provide me with your website URL?

It looks like your pages are being cached. Do you have any cache plugin or cache server enabled? Please disable them and try again.

Yeah, the website is using LiteSpeed Cache.

I’ve cleared the JS/CSS and page cache, and the plugin debug log has:

    I changed

IP2Proxy Lookup Modeto Local BIN Database

    and the problem is fixed.

Why would IP2Proxy Lookup Mode be set to Disabled?

    Plugin Author ip2location

    (@ip2location)

The detection should use IP2Location IPV6 database as I noticed that the IP in your website is IPV6. IP2Proxy is a special database to detect proxy/VPN only.

    Thanks,

I’ve deselected Download IPv4 database only
