I tested out and tried Gutenberg on a new site today and just did not care for it at all. The UI is very counter-intuitive and just does not seem to work the way any other pagebuilder I’ve ever seen or used should work. If I want to create a one-page site with infinite scroll, add text, images, headers, email sign ups, add any kind of design fluidity, it would take days for me to do what I could have done in minutes before. I just don’t have the time to spend days creating half a page and it still being wonky. I get that WP needs to be competitive with Wix and Weebly but theirs are more fluid and intuitive and work to create basic site designs. WordPress was and is so much more than that I just wish this were rolled out incrementally so it could be better. Sizing the headers and banner images and logos was weird and wonky, I couldn’t find any way to add code and just wanted to get work done for a client.
