Counter not reset when booking canceled

On my website I use the plugin to book 12 items for 2 2-hour periods on specific days(i.e. 12 items from 9 to 11am and 12 items from 11am to 1pm, usually on Saturday mornings)Each person can book only 1 item at a time (or has to send another booking form). Counter under the calendar shows “12” next to each time until someone books something. Then 11 after the first booking and so on. This is of course exactly what is expected. However, if I cancel a booking for some reason, e-mails get sent (to the admin and the “client”) but the counter does not go back up (e.g. 11->12).
Is this a known bug or is there something I do wrong ?
