Countdown widget displays incorrect time

    We have 3 games today and 3 teams. Each team’s schedule page found under Our Team has a countdown widget. And all of the are displaying a time 7 hours earlier than the actual game time. If you refresh the screen the correct time shows for a couple of seconds and then it reverts back to the incorrect time. For instance our 10am game today is now displaying as the game already happened and it is currently 7:04. If the countdown was correct they would have been playing at 3am!

    The settings are set to Chicago time which is Central Standard Time and everything looks good from that standpoint.

    Please check it out: homepage, Varsity Viper Schedule, JV Black schedule and HV Silver schedule all have countdown widgets displaying the incorrect time.

    We are having the EXACT same problem however with Eastern time. We’ll add that we are hosted on a GoDaddy shared server based in Arizona if that makes a difference.

    Hi @baseballfan and @santonivich ,

    Did you try to change both WordPress->Settings->Timezone and SportsPress->Settings->Timezone?

    Hello Savvas,

    Yes, both are set to Chicago time. Sorry, I thought I had made that clear in my original post.

    Can you try to switch to a default theme like Rookie or TwentySeventeen so as to see if your current theme is responsible for this behaviour?

    Hello Savvas,

    It seems to be working in Rookie and TwentySeventeen. So does that mean there is an issue with the theme I purchased? What is strange, is this was working fine last season. So I’m assuming an update from Sportspress or the theme changed this and now it is not working. I will reach out to the author.

    We have made some improvements to the widget at recent updates so as to recognise users timezone. Maybe that was having as result to conflict with your theme code. I am sure the developer of your theme will be able to assist you ??

    @santonivich – I found I wasn’t using the latest theme update. Once I updated my theme, the countdown widget started working correctly again. Good luck!
