Is this only showing 00’s in chrome on the ipad, or also on safari, the native iPad browser.

good question… everything looks correct on iPad Safari. iPad Chrome is the only issue so far.

Hmmm… ok, will test and see if it’s something we can work around or if it’s just the way it is with the current version of chrome for iOS on iPad. It does work in iOS on iPhone.

Which version fo iOS are you using, by the way?

I’m also having this problem on iPhone’s mobile Chrome and in Safari on iPad 2. (I don’t have the problem in Safari on the iPhone.)

I currently run iOS 6.0 on both the iPhone and iPad.

    I’m running 6.0.1.

Alright, it seems there is something very wonky going on. We’ll try to get a solution, or at least a work-around for you by the end of the week. Thanks for the report—in the meantime stand by and stay classy.

Just an update for you, dear iOS + Chrome + T-Countdown user:
After a bit of research, it seems this is very much an issue with the way the fine folks from Cupertino deal with non-safari browsers:
    Non-safari browsers do not…

…have the Nitro Javascript engine. This makes executing Javascript much slower in UIWebView compared to Safari.

    https://stackoverflow.com/questions/3496505/differences-between-uiwebview-and-mobile-safari

Fear not! We are starting extensive testing to see if this is, in fact, an issue with Chrome and UIWebView (so also FireFox, Opera, etc) or just with Chrome.

Stay tuned… more to come (including a fix)

    Excellent Baden,

I’m glad this is getting explored and will make the plugin better! Looking forward to updates.

Good news iOS fans: Version 2.2.9 addresses this issue. Please update, test and provide feedback. If you are so moved, your Vote for Pedro! may help others choose t(-) Countdown for all their countdown needs.

    Yay WordPress Community!
