    Hello,

I’ve just installed Maintenance Pro, and have discovered some issues while setting it up.

    PROBLEM 1

The main problem relates to the count-down. No matter what I do I can’t get this to work properly. In most instances the count-down will simply display all 0’s, particularly when setting a short time frame. I’ve tried many combinations of start/stop times, and am seeing very unpredictable results. In some instances the count-down will display, but the number of hours has nothing to do with what I set. There’s something very wrong with this at the moment.

Most times I would use this would be for shorter time-frames, say 2 hours or so for some system updates. As I said, I can’t get the countdown working at all for short time-frames, and for longer ones it is not displaying accurate time.

    PROBLEM 2

The other issue I am seeing is more minor, and is a CSS problem. I’ve customized our CSS ever so slightly, and don’t believe it’s the cause. Basically I’m finding that when you select the login form, when it expands it is distorting the remainder of the screen. What is happening is that all the elements on the maintenance screen literally skew when the login for opens. I’ll do some more testing to see if this is the result of my custom CSS, but I don’t think it is.

    IDEAS FOR IMPROVEMENTS

    1. It would be very useful to have an option in the countdown that is not dependent on start/stop dates, and instead allows you to set an amount of time to count down from. In other words, you could set the count-down to 2 hours, rather than having to do this with start/stop times. This makes a lot more sense when you’re doing short-term work.

    2. Include an option to customize the copyright line, so it doesn’t have to use the site title necessarily.

    3. In the admin, in the section for users (for this plugin), you should include some description as to its purpose. Through testing I determined that this controls who can/can’t log in when in maintenance mode. But this wasn’t obvious from within the admin because there’s no description for this section.

    Thanks for your help!

    Hello,

I’m still waiting for a response from you. I noticed you responded to someone else who posted after me, but skipped my message.

I’d greatly appreciate your help, as I paid for this plugin (I purchased the PRO version), and as reported it has some issues.

Do you plan on responding to me any time soon? I have paid for this plugin, and you are not supporting it!

    Michael Samson,

This is support forum for free plugin version.

We already implemented changes regarding counter, release will be in few days.

You could have simply told me this was only support for the free version early on, so I didn’t think you were ignoring me. Now that I know this, I’ll remove my negative review. On this subject, where should I go for support of the paid (Pro) version?

I’m glad to hear you have implemented a fix for the counter and look forward to the update. Once I have the update, I’ll go ahead and test the counter to make sure its working. I’m glad you fixed this, as the plugin works very well otherwise.

Oh, I almost forgot… Do you have any comments about the skewing (CSS) issue I reported for the login form?

    Hello,

I just wanted to let you know I updated to version 2.4 today, for both the free and paid versions, and the problem with the countdown is now fixed. I have tested this, and it appears to be working normally.

Thank you for implementing my idea about customizing the footer text too. I still would really like to see a countdown total option (as I suggested above), so we can just set an amount of time to count down from, instead of setting start and end times.

Another thing I noticed is there is only one color option for the countdown. It would be great if you could split this up into these options: countdown font color, top background color, progress countdown color (this is the color showing as a % of the total time), and bottom countdown color (where it says “hours,” “minutes,” etc. I’ve done some of this with custom CSS, but having controls would be easier.

    One remaining issue…

The issue I reported with the login screen, and how it skews the rest of the screen when open is still happening. It’s not a major problem, but it does look strange.

Anyways, thanks again for fixing the countdown issue. This is a great plugin, so keep up the good work!

    ~ Michael
