Count number of repeats

I am using the repeater field to manage revisions of design projects. I am hoping there is a way I can get the number of repeats into a number field so that I can calculate the number of revisions for the form submission.
I have added it in a HTML block for front end use, but I need the numerical data for reporting post-submission.
Can you please help?
