Count not retrieve order

On both mobile and desktop versions using google chrome, each time my client tries to pay with paypal, it opens up the small window, they confirm paypal details, then when they return back to the woocommerce checkout page, it states “Could not retrieve order. This browser may not be supported. Please try again with a different browser.”
It does this with standard payments and advanced card processing both.
