    Hello
I posted a while ago about how my widget wasn’t showing the correct number of tweets and didn’t get a single reply, so I don’t know if it managed to post itself in the wrong area or what. Since I was still having the problem, I dug around some more and found an old thread about how tweets set to be hidden such as retweets and @replies are included in the count for how many tweets to display. I increased the number of tweets I was displaying and found that the hidden tweets are indeed what was causing my issue. In that thread you mentioned you would have to code around the issue, so I’m wondering if you’re going to do this anytime soon? It’s really annoying when the feed only has one or two tweets in it, or perhaps none if I am having a conversation with someone because I have @replies hidden.

    Curious

Julia: I *thoroughly* agree with you. The way Twitter handles these API calls is unintuitive (and just plain dumb). Unfortunately it’s the way they’ve chosen to do it. You can see it in their own documents – https://dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/get/statuses/user_timeline#api-param-count

Eventually I think I’ll have to program a workaround such as requesting a very large number of tweets regardless of how many we want, and then filtering them myself. Unfortunately I haven’t had the time to do it (and it will also be far less efficient).

Yea, I think the fail whale had a hand in that particular twitter decision. It would be great if you did figure out something eventually. For now I have increased the tweets displayed and set the overflow to scroll (I have a small defined area). If I start having more @conversations I’ll increase it again.

Thanks for making such a great widget. I’m very happy with it.
