Basically Im interested in ammending Posts that exist. I’d like to make a bulk change (350 posts) which in the main have no current featured image.
    Can you help with this?
    Many thanks Martin

The plugin is able to do that.

    1. Select the first action.
    2. Select an image.
    3. Leave the option “Overwrite existing featured images” unchecked to set the featured image only to posts without any featured image.
    4. If you want add and configure some filters.
    5. Preview and apply. You got what you wanted.

Once you have selected the image you scroll down and click on “Next”. A new page occurs on where you go on and see this option. Scroll down to click on “Next” again.

In 5 steps you will get 300+ posts changed.

No. I either get the same featured image for 300 posts or nothing. I require the 1st image in each post being selected.

    2 reasons:

    1. Maybe a third party plugin interferes here. You can deactivate other plugins, run this plugin and activate the others again.
    2. The embedded images are from another server. This plugin finds only images updated into the media library of the website.

The majority of my images reside in a folder I created .a which do not run through /wp-content/uploads.

    Could this be why?

Yes. If image not in the media library: no ID, so no assignment as featured image of a post possible.
