    Hi there,

I have gone through every troubleshooting guide and still can’t get past the ‘couldn’t fetch’ sitemap error in Google Search Console.

    Here’s what I’ve tried:

    • Changing the sitemap name and re-submitting
    • Unchecking the ‘discourage search engines from indexing’ checkbox in Settings in WordPress
    • Adding a / and removing a / before the sitemap name
    • Excluding the sitemap from caching in the plugin
    • Unchecking the ‘block indexing in the virtual Robots-X file’
    • Waiting a week

If I test the live URL inside Google Search Console it shows that Google can fetch and crawl the sitemap – but even if I uncheck the ‘block indexing’ checkbox inside XML-Sitemaps the result still finds a ‘noindex’ tag. Not sure if that is an issue.

My site was infected with malware so all my Google results are showing Spam links. The issue is fixed so they don’t redirect to a spam website, but I still am very anxious for GSC to read my sitemap as the Google result SEO titles are still spam.

Please let me know what else I can try.
