I am trying to install WordPress 3.1 and I am not having much success. Anyway, up until know, I have installed the package in the Root folder. However, now looking at the root folder, within it there is actually a folder with the title of my domain name. Was I supposed to install wordpress directly into this sub-directory in the root folder or am I doing something else that is stupid? Read more of my dramas here.

You need to install WordPress in the root folder for the domain. You’ll have a root folder for your account on the server and then a root folder for your specific domain. Make sure you install it in the root folder for the domain NOT your account.
