• I’m unable to log into my dashboard. When I enter my log in info, it just refreshes to the wp-login page. I tried resetting my password (though the one I am entering is correct) and I got this error message: “Could not save password reset key to database.”

Earlier this morning I was able to login, but when I tried to an update a post I noticed that it said “Updated” but the update didn’t actually save/show up on the website.

Does anyone know what this means and what I can do to fix it??

    Thank you!

  • I am having the exact same problem. I cannot log into a site I was in previously, and on top of that a website I was in this morning will not update.

I am having this problem as well. on multiple WP sites!

I can’t speak to every instance, but it turns out one of the programmers had locked down the permissions on the tmp folder on at the root of the server. Opening the permissions up fixed the issue on our server.

I’m having the same problem … I was able to access the WP yesterday , but today nothing happens on login.

When I try to recover the pass it shows: Could not save password reset key to database.

    Having the same problem.

did anyone got the solution please?? I have the same problem… Cheers

Would anyone else have a solution to this problem please?? I am really desperate looking for answers and could not find anything…. I got the same problem with two of my WP websites… it looks like after the new update the login into the admin page just doesn’t work.
I did deactivate the plugins through the cpanel but still could not login.
Any help would be very much appreciated.
    Cheers

    anyone please??

Just have met this issue. The solution in my case: “Could not save password reset key to database.” was initiated from host provider because of disk space limit ( he simply restrict DB changes… ). I set free some space (deleted backups) – DB become writable – I could change the pass…

Anymore info on this problem. I just got the “Could not save password reset key to database” message on trying to logon to one of my sites. But only one. The others are OK.

Technically if you setup your os manually, you could reset the mysql password quite easily.

After, depending on linux and webserver on it, take great care of files and db. (wordpress admin password is encoded in md5 in sql basically, but, with a phpmyadmin access you can easy find it back).

    Hope it helps,

    This is very simple.
You just exceeded the amount of space on the database.

I FTP’d into the account and looked in my wp-content folder. IN there, I deleted a bunch of old backup zips that had accumulated and also some sitting in a temp backup folder. This cleared up my database space and I was able to log in immediately.

Apparently some routines had run over the weekend and filled up my DB.

This should be a temporary issue. Try after sometime. Mine worked like that.

Anyone have an answer to this…I have multiple sites on WordPress and I can’t log into any of them. No I have not exceeded space on disk nowhere near.
