The error has occurred for transactions in both Chrome on Mac and PC and Safari on IOS- it may be happening with other browsers but I can’t confirm. I’ve read several other users are getting the same error repeatedly and have been advised the issue was fixed in a previous update. We have the latest version installed but still getting the error. Please can you advise what to try next?

    Theme: Avada 7.9
    WP Version: 6.1.1
    PHP Version:7.2.34.

    Hi @missjtulip

This error usually means a buyer was clicking the “Place order” button for the PayPal gateway. It can happen for various reasons: Error on your site, the buyer using an unsupported browser, or JavaScript being disabled in the browser.

The regular “Place order” button will not work on a technical level:

It is supposed to be replaced with the PayPal smart buttons, but there is a JavaScript error on your Checkout page which is likely related to the button replacement not happening.

To get to the bottom of this behavior, you may want to perform a full conflict test to rule out eventual issues with the theme or a different plugin. We recommend temporarily activating the default theme Storefront and disabling all other plugins except for?WooCommerce and?PayPal Payments to see if the behavior persists.

Here’s a guide that explains the steps in more detail: How to test for conflicts
Please let us know how this works out for you.
    Thanks!

    Kind regards,
    Niklas
