Could not remove the old plugin

  • I just went through a mess with this same issue. For some reason (I know I didn’t do it) the file permissions for my plugins and themes folder were set incorrectly.

    I called my hosting company and they walked me through updating the file permissions with filezilla via FTP.

    He said directories should be 755, and files should be 644.

    I’m sure you can google how to change permissions with filezilla for more detailed information.
