• Hello guys.
I’m new with WordPress, and recently I moved several WordPress websites from directory and I started getting the following message on Softaculous dashboard:

The following errors were found :

Could not read the wp-config.php file to get config option
Could not read the wp-config.php file to get config option
Could not read the wp-config.php file to get config option
Could not read the wp-config.php file to get config option

I’m not sure what it means, but what I did is I moved the WordPress files from directory A to directory B, then I updated the document root through AddOn Domains in my cPanel.
I also noticed the folder uploads for the provided url keeps coming back.
How can I fix this issue?
    Thanks in advance!

Since you’re using a custom WordPress installer, you’ll need to contact your hosting provider about the issue.

It’s always best to download an official version of WordPress from this site and install it yourself. The versions of WordPress in “one-click” installers such as Softaculous are oftentimes modified by hosting companies, and they may not work the same as the official versions.

What are the ownership and permissions for the wp-config.php file? Is it properly in thee docroot from the site in question?

@sterndata the wp-config.php is located in the root folder if the installation url, along the index and wp-admin, etc. The permissions for this file are 0644.

Change that to 664 and see if that helps.

@sterndata Done. What do you think is causing the moneysaverinternationalfoodmarket.com domain to keep re-generating the folder wp-content/uploads/…? I updated the domain docroot and transferred all the files, however this folder keeps coming back after visiting the domain. I cleared cache, did a new installation and the folder keeps reappearing.
