    Thanks for your comment, but this is probably a question for your WordPress hosting company – it sounds like something is wrong with your WordPress install.

    Having said that, the GDE button itself isn’t particularly useful – it is simply a shortcut for inserting the text [gview url=” into your post, so you could just type that instead!

    Or try Add Media, select a doc file such as PDF, and see if that gives you the full shortcode. This is the most common way to embed a document.
