I have an installation of WordPress, and everything seems fine, except the fact, that the index page of the blog always loads after 3-4 seconds of waiting. I have another blog with the same plugins at the same server. The only difference is, that I have about 40 categories in the second blog, with numerous posting in most of them.

Is Woredpress checking these cats when you load the index.php page, and could this be the cause for slowing it down?

Yes, I use it, but each and every time I update the content, the index page slows down for the first visitor ?? So this is the problem, is it a known bug?

it’s not a bug as only a few experience it

OK, thak you for the link. What I still wonder is, is it a known fact, that more categories may slow the index.php page? Or the problem may be in some plugin?

I’d guess 40 categories isn’t going to slow you down that much.

I have 152 categories on one WordPress site, and I haven’t had any problems with it being slow.

It sounds like maybe your cache plugin is going slow. It sounds to me like the slowness occurs on the frontend, on your homepage, the first time it is loaded when new content exists. So maybe the content is being cached in that slowtime.

Yes, you are right, Dgold ?? But I use WP Super cache and the same plugins at the main domain of the hosting account, and there are no problems. But with the add-on domain, I don’t know why that happens…
